Bright Cherry Crisp

Updated: Sep 14, 2022

Made, Written & Photographed by the Creators of the Point

Crisps are the perfect way to bring pies into summer. They're not quite as heavy, they still come with a scoop of ice cream, and they've got that fruity filling.

This crisp is a must make considering it takes under 10 minutes to put together, less than 30 minutes to bake, and only 6 ingredients.

Bright Cherry Crisp

serves 6

Instructions:

  • 2 - 21oz cans cherry pie filling

  • zest of 1 lemon

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup oats

  • 1/2 cup butter, cold and cubed

Instructions:

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 400F. Spray a 9x13 pan and spread your pie filling evenly in the pan. Sprinkle your lemon zest on top of the cherries.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup oats. Use a pastry cutter or a fork to cut in your butter chunks until evenly combined and a thick sand texture.

  3. Sprinkle your flour mixture evenly over the cherry pie filling.

  4. Place in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

  5. Serve warm with ice cream. Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
