Sweet Maple Chicken Sandwich

Made, written & photographed by the creators of the Point

The key to making a delicious sandwich is to make it as easy as possible. With frozen chicken strips, you will be able to get the crunchy deep-fried texture of deep-fried chicken without the mess of deep-frying.

We love these sandwiches because they are saucy, sweet, smokey, and cheesy. That's all of the checkboxes required for a restaurant quality sandwich at home!

Sweet Maple Chicken Sandwich

Makes 4 sandwiches | Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 to 10 frozen chicken tenders, depending on size

  • 4 slices smoked gouda cheese

  • 8 slices bacon

  • Red Onion, sliced

  • 4 pretzel buns, or buns of your choice

For the Maple Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup Yellow Mustard

  • 1/3 cup Maple Syrup

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • Pinch of Salt

  • Pinch of Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Begin by baking or air-frying the chicken tenders according to the package details.

  2. While those bake, combine all your sauce ingredients in a medium bowl. Refrigerate until you're ready to build the sandwiches.

  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and fry bacon until crispy.

  4. To build sandwiches, cut each roll in half. Layer as follows: 2 chicken strips, 1 slice gouda cheese, 2 slices bacon, red onion slice, and a good drizzle of the sauce.
